Namwon City to Host National Billiards Championship from July 12 to 16
Held at Namwon Sports Town Indoor Gymnasium
Over 1,600 Participants Including Players and Referees
Namwon City, North Jeolla Province, will host the "20th Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister's National Amateur Billiards Tournament and the 2025 Namwon National Billiards Championship" at the Namwon Sports Town Indoor Gymnasium from July 12 to 16.

View original imageAccording to the city on July 9, the tournament is organized and hosted by the Korea Billiards Federation, Jeonbuk Billiards Federation, and Namwon Billiards Federation, with support from North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province, Namwon City, the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, and Hollywood Co., Ltd.
This tournament will feature over 1,600 participants, including players and referees. Top-ranked athletes from all billiards disciplines, including carom, pocket, and snooker, will gather to deliver high-level matches and thrilling, memorable games. In particular, Heo Jeonghwan, a leading player in carom three-cushion, will compete as he aims for his third consecutive tournament victory.
The event will also include a variety of special programs, creating a festive atmosphere for both citizens and spectators to enjoy. During the tournament, a donation campaign for youth billiards players will take place, providing a meaningful opportunity to support the next generation of sports talent.
Additionally, the Billiards Curling Challenge event will offer a unique experience for people of all ages to enjoy billiards in a new way. A mini swimming pool zone will also be available to help visitors cool off during the summer, which is expected to be especially popular among families.
This Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism National Amateur Billiards Tournament is the largest billiards festival in Korea and is expected to significantly contribute to expanding the base of billiards, revitalizing the sport, and raising its profile as a form of recreational athletics.
