National Busan Science Museum Successfully Holds 'Starlight Sponsorship Night,' Celebrating 10 Years of Partnership
Reflecting on the Journey Together with the Supporters Association for the 10th Anniversary

Supporters Association Receives Science Culture Promotion Award and Science Sharing Donation Plaques
The National Busan Science Museum (Director Song Samjong) successfully held the 'Starlight Sponsorship Night' on July 8 at the museum's planetarium and main conference room.
This event was organized to mark the 10th anniversary of the museum's founding (established on July 13, opened on December 11) and served as an opportunity to express gratitude to supporting members who have contributed to the museum's development and the spread of a culture of sharing science. It also aimed to promote communication and exchange to further activate the supporters' association.
Attendees included Song Samjong, Director of the National Busan Science Museum; Lee Sutae, Chairman of the National Busan Science Museum Supporters Association (also Chairman of Panasia); Lee Chaeyoon, the first Chairman of the Supporters Association (Chairman of Lino Industry); Kim Heejung, National Assembly Member who contributed to the museum's establishment; Kim Seyoun, CEO of Agenda 2050 (former National Assembly Member); Heo Namsik, former Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City; Suh Byungsoo, former Mayor of Busan; Seol Donggeun, former Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education; Choi Hyundol, former Head of Gijang County. Also present were Lee Younghwal, the first Director of the Science Museum; Ko Hyunsook, the second Director; Shin Changho, CEO of Busan Urban Corporation; Jeon Hyejeong, President of the Busan Ulsan Gyeongnam Women Venture Association; Kim Yongkyu, Executive Director of BNK Busan Bank; Koo Taekeun, Executive Director of BNK Gyeongnam Bank; Lee Kyungho, Head of Lotte World Adventure Busan; Lee Hongmo, Head of Village de Ananti, and more than 90 supporting members from institutions, businesses, and families who graced the occasion.
The event proceeded in the following order: commemorative plaque unveiling ceremony, the main event (Part 1), and dinner (Part 2).
Before the main event, a 'One Million Signatures Campaign Plaque' unveiling ceremony was held at the museum's outdoor plaza, inviting those who contributed to attracting and establishing the museum.

View original imageThe main event (Part 1), true to the name 'Starlight Sponsorship Night,' was held in the planetarium, which features a dome screen filled with stars. The program included a report on the supporters' association's progress over the past 10 years, an award ceremony for the Minister's Commendation and plaques of appreciation, a constellation commentary, and a classical performance by Charmant Roselle.
Notably, the supporters' association became the first among national science museum supporters' groups to receive the 'Minister of Science and ICT Award for Contribution to the Spread of Science Culture.' Nine members who became Narae Members of the association (by donating over 10 million KRW) ? Kim Taehan, President of BNK Gyeongnam Bank (represented by Executive Director Koo Taekeun); Park Mi, Head of Dong-A Plating; Lee Sangmin, CEO of Chinhwan Gyeongbokjiga Ronuri; Lim Byungcheon, Chairman of Kwangsung Measuring Instruments; Shin Changho, CEO of Busan Urban Corporation; Jeon Hyejeong, President of the Busan Ulsan Gyeongnam Women Venture Association; Jeong Seongwoo, CEO of Gmax; and Hong Seongbak, CEO of Bugok Stainless ? were presented with the 'Science Sharing Certification Plaque.'

View original imagePart 2 continued with a networking dinner. The dinner featured a 10th anniversary cake-cutting ceremony and lively activities themed around scientific principles in games, creating a space for exchange and communication.
Song Samjong, Director of the National Busan Science Museum, expressed his gratitude, saying, "The support and encouragement from the supporters' association have played a significant role in the museum's growth as a leading science culture hub in the southeastern region over the past 10 years. Moving forward, we will continue to open new paths together with the local community and the people."
Lee Sutae, Chairman of the National Busan Science Museum Supporters Association, stated, "I feel great pride seeing how the museum has grown in line with the expectations of local residents. The supporters' association will continue to be a strong foundation so that everyone can enjoy the value of science."
