At the briefing session, over 30 participants attended, including three external experts: Nam Hojeong, professor at Chonnam National University; Lee Nankyeong, professor at Gwangju Women's University; and Lee Hyeonyeop, manager at the Korea Creative Content Agency. With the initiation of the basic plan, the attendees discussed the main direction of the expo and ways to differentiate it as a gourmet expo.
The session focused on reviewing the following: a bird's-eye view of the expo venue and detailed implementation plans; specific direction for key exhibition spaces such as the Theme Exhibition Hall, Gourmet Culture Hall, and K-Food Enterprise Hall; an efficient manpower operation plan to provide a pleasant viewing environment; and plans for safety management and transportation operations.
Yoo Hyeonho, Director of Tourism and Sports at Jeonnam Province, emphasized, "With the commencement briefing session marking the start of full-scale preparations, the Secretariat will take the lead in closely cooperating with the agency and the supervisory team to ensure thorough preparations for the international event."
The 2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo is the first international event in Korea with a gourmet theme to be officially approved, utilizing the value of Namdo cuisine, which combines Jeonnam's pristine nature with its culinary traditions, and its industrial potential. The expo will be held from October 1 to 26 at the Mokpo Culture and Arts Center and surrounding areas.
