JLK and Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital's Ministry of Science and ICT AI Voucher Project Progressing Smoothly
JLK, a company specializing in medical artificial intelligence, announced on July 9 that the 'AI Voucher Support Project' it is conducting in partnership with Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital is progressing smoothly.
The 'AI Voucher Support Project' is a government initiative promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency to accelerate the spread of artificial intelligence (AI) technology across industries and to drive digital transformation. Recently, JLK and Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital were selected as recipients for this project.
As a result, JLK and Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital are carrying out a project to build an 'AI precision medical solution-based in-hospital system' with government funding. The project period is a total of seven months, from May to November.
JLK is working on four AI-based stroke solutions it developed (JLK-ICH, JLK-CTP, JLK-UIA, JLK-LVO) to improve emergency room patient care processes, apply and utilize the solutions in medical settings, and further advance the solutions based on feedback from medical professionals.
In addition, the neurosurgery department at Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital, which treats conditions such as cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral infarction, is actively participating and playing a key role based on its clinical expertise in stroke and extensive treatment experience. In particular, the hospital is serving as a bridgehead for integrating AI into the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases by verifying the clinical performance of the AI solutions, including accuracy (AUC), sensitivity, and specificity, using patient data.
Both organizations plan to publish papers to confirm the utility of the solutions in real clinical environments, and tangible results are expected. By incorporating feedback from medical professionals experienced in AI, they aim to improve user experience (UX) and contribute to narrowing the healthcare service gap by strengthening the diagnostic capabilities of regional medical institutions.
Kim Dongmin, CEO of JLK, stated, "Through this AI Voucher Support Project, we have laid the foundation for our stroke solutions to be more deeply integrated into medical practice," and added, "We will focus even more on advancing and commercializing AI-based diagnostic solutions to lead the global AI healthcare market."
