Gwangmyeong City recorded the highest fiscal execution rate among the 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province in the first half of the year.
On July 9, Gwangmyeong City announced that it ranked first in the "First Half Local Fiscal Rapid Execution Evaluation" conducted by Gyeonggi Province.
During this period, the city executed 37.72 billion won, exceeding its target of 24.49 billion won, achieving an execution rate of 154%. As a result of this evaluation, the city secured a special adjustment grant of 2 billion won.
The city explained that this achievement was the result of proactive and swift fiscal execution efforts aimed at revitalizing the livelihoods of residents. Earlier, in January of this year, the city preemptively provided about 26 billion won in livelihood stabilization support funds to stimulate consumption and boost the economy.
To increase the fiscal execution rate, the city also operated a "Rapid Execution Task Force" led by the Deputy Mayor. The task force held progress report meetings on carryover projects, rapid execution inspection meetings, and fiscal strategy meetings, analyzing the execution performance of all departments and focusing on managing underperforming projects.
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, stated, "This achievement is a valuable result created by the collective efforts of all departments," and added, "In the second half of the year, we will actively pursue fiscal policies that citizens can truly feel."
