At the 10th plenary meeting of the Minimum Wage Commission held at the Government Complex Sejong on July 8, the public interest members proposed a "deliberation facilitation range" of 10,210 won (an increase of 1.8%) to 10,440 won (an increase of 4.1%) in an effort to narrow the gap between labor and management.
As the gap between labor and management remained unresolved, the public interest members listened to both sides and presented the deliberation facilitation range. Both parties will submit revised proposals within this range, and based on these revised proposals, the commission will determine next year's minimum wage through either consensus or a vote.
