Environmental Cleanup Activities Such as Spraying EM Solution
Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) is taking steps to improve the residential environment for vulnerable groups in Busanjin-gu and to restore the local stream ecosystem.
On the morning of July 8, the corporation held a launching ceremony for the "Love House Repair in Busanjin-gu" project at the Busanjin-gu Office and announced the official start of its activities. This project is a public-private partnership social contribution initiative that supports residents living in poor housing conditions so they can enjoy a safer and more comfortable life.
The project involves Busanjin-gu Office, BNK Busan Bank, Busan Community Chest of Korea, and Busanjin-gu Senior Welfare Center. Since 2023, the corporation has been promoting the "Love House Repair" project, and has now expanded it to Busanjin-gu following Sasang-gu, Saha-gu, Haeundae-gu, and Dongnae-gu.
The corporation's in-house volunteer group, the Humetro Volunteer Corps, is leading the effort, with employees specializing in mechanical and electrical fields volunteering their skills. The main tasks include waterproofing and painting, replacing faucets and washbasins, repairing old lighting fixtures and outlets, and fixing window screens.
In addition, the corporation is also engaging in local ecological restoration activities. As an institution in the Jeonpocheon area, it is participating in the "From a Sick Stream (Deongcheon) to a Breathing Stream (Dongcheon)" project, which involves activities such as spraying effective microorganism (EM) solution and collecting trash to purify the stream. This project is organized by the Busanjin-gu Community Social Security Council. Starting this month and continuing through December, the corporation plans to recruit volunteer staff each month to carry out regular environmental improvement activities.
