Transported to Hospital, But No Life-Threatening Injuries
Two teenagers riding an electric scooter were hit by a moving car while crossing a crosswalk in Gwangju and were transported to the hospital.
According to the Gwangsan Police Station on July 8, at around 9:57 p.m. the previous day, an accident occurred near a crosswalk on a six-lane one-way road in Singa-dong, Gwangsan-gu, where a passenger car collided with an electric scooter. As a result of the accident, the two teenagers who were riding together on the electric scooter suffered head and other injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The police stated that the victims were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident, and the driver of the car was not under the influence of alcohol. The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, including whether the driver violated any traffic signals.
