On the 5th, Jochiwon-eup (headed by Kim Byungho) and the Jochiwon Residents' Autonomy Association (chaired by Hwang Seungwon) held this year's village festival and residents' general assembly simultaneously at Dodori Park.
The event was organized as a resident-participatory village festival, where next year's village planning projects?proposed directly by residents and selected through voting?were shared, and a variety of performances, exhibitions, and hands-on programs were enjoyed together.
Before the general assembly, performances by a youth rap and dance team, a taekwondo demonstration group, and a couple's acoustic guitar club, as well as special stages by singer Rich and saxophonist Shin Yoosik, heightened the festive atmosphere and provided enjoyment for the residents.
At the following residents' general assembly, six village planning projects for Jochiwon-eup for next year and small-scale resident-requested projects were reported, and the results of the residents' vote were announced. The selected projects include the Dodori Park Starlight Film Festival, Jochi Water Festa, and Smart Classroom for Seniors in Our Village, all of which reflect the region's unique characteristics and the value of generational integration in the fields of culture and education. Each project will be implemented after going through the budget approval process.
Hwang Seungwon, chair of the Residents' Autonomy Association, said, "This year's residents' general assembly went beyond simply sharing project details; it was a true village festival where residents could see, hear, and experience together. We will continue to work hard to create more opportunities for residents to communicate with one another."
