Malaysia Imposes Anti-Dumping Duties on Steel Products from South Korea, China, and Vietnam
Effective for Up to 120 Days Starting July 7
Malaysia will impose provisional anti-dumping duties on certain steel products produced in South Korea, China, and Vietnam.
According to multiple foreign media reports on July 5, the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry announced that it will impose provisional anti-dumping duties ranging from 3.86% to 57.90% on galvanized iron coils or sheets and galvanized steel coils or sheets produced in South Korea, China, and Vietnam. This measure will be in effect for up to 120 days starting from July 7, and the final anti-dumping duties will be determined by November 3.
The Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry stated in an official announcement that this decision is based on a preliminary determination reached during the anti-dumping investigation that began on February 6. The ministry added, "The government has found sufficient evidence that imports of these products are being dumped, and has determined that it is necessary to continue the investigation."

Malaysia also imposed anti-dumping duties in May on flat-rolled products imported from four countries, including South Korea, Japan, and China.
