Daegu Food Companies Hold 270 Buyer Meetings at North America's Largest Food Expo... Youngpoong Signs $10 Million Export MOU
Daegu City participated in the '2025 Summer Fancy Food Show,' the largest premium food expo in North America, from June 29 to July 1, establishing a foothold for entering the global market.
This event, hosted by the Specialty Food Association (SFA), was held at the Javits Center in New York, United States.
Daegu City set up the 'Daegu Pavilion' at the venue and, together with 10 outstanding local food companies, showcased a variety of products to local buyers and visitors.
Local buyers showed great interest in Daegu's unique food products, which offer not only excellent taste and quality but also convenience. Participating companies directly introduced their products and provided tasting opportunities, receiving positive feedback.
During the expo, the Daegu Pavilion conducted over 270 buyer consultations, with more than 10 of these considered promising meetings with a high potential for export contracts.
In particular, Youngpoong Co., Ltd. (CEO Cho Jaegon) signed an export memorandum of understanding (MOU) worth $10 million with a local buyer in the United States, and Haru Health (CEO Kim Hyesu) agreed to conduct sample testing of its health juice with an importing company. Additionally, Nadri Co., Ltd. (CEO Cho Songyeon) is set to enter detailed contract negotiations with a major U.S. distributor.
The Daegu food industry has achieved meaningful export results in overseas markets this year, including at this expo. Youngpoong Co., Ltd. is targeting $30 million in exports, while Humanwell Co., Ltd. is aiming for $3 million, focusing on expanding their presence in the global market.
