The county announced that full operations will begin on July 3. Ulju Cinema is a community-based public movie theater established in Ulju County, an area in Ulsan that has relatively limited cultural infrastructure.
Ulju Cinema is situated on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the welfare town and features a total of three screening rooms with a combined 326 seats. Notably, Screening Room 1 is equipped with 'Dolby Atmos,' a 360-degree immersive sound system, marking the first time a local government has introduced such technology, providing an engaging viewing experience. The facility is also equipped with amenities for visitors, including a ticket box, concession stand, and a lounge for pregnant women.
Ticket prices are set at 8,000 won for standard (2D) movies and 9,000 won for 3D movies. Ulju County residents receive a 1,000 won discount, making the tickets available at about half the price of those at private cinemas. The cinema operates from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and is closed every Monday for regular maintenance.
County Governor Lee Soongeol stated, "Ulju Cinema is a space created so that every county resident can easily enjoy culture in their daily lives. We hope it will become a local cultural hub where people can enrich their emotions and share moments of relaxation through films."
