The Coway Clean School Classroom Forest project, now in its seventh round, is an eco-friendly ESG initiative designed to create an educational environment where students can be close to plants. It aims to foster environmental awareness and emotional connection to nature by encouraging students to plant and care for their own companion plants.
Students, along with the employee volunteer group, transplanted plants into pots made from leftover disposable mask fabric and recycled transparent PET bottles. They will continue to care for and nurture their companion trees in each classroom.
A Coway employee who participated in the volunteer activity said, "Planting trees with the children was a meaningful experience that went beyond simply protecting the environment, as it connected future generations with nature. I hope that warm social contribution activities in partnership with the local community will continue to expand in the future."
Since 2022, Coway has been donating air-purifying plants to elementary schools nationwide through the Clean School Classroom Forest project. In addition, for each companion tree supplied to the classroom forests, Coway plants an endangered species and plans to transplant these into forests in the future, continuing its efforts to preserve biodiversity.
