On July 2, Choi Minho, the mayor of Sejong City, held a solo protest in front of the main gate of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries at the Government Sejong Complex, opposing the ministry's relocation to Busan. In an interview with the media on the same day, Mayor Choi stated, "The unilateral relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries undermines national administrative efficiency," and proposed a public debate with Jeon Jae-soo, the minister-designate of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Mayor Choi plans to continue his solo protest every day from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. until July 4.
