Han Ducksoo Suspected of Signing and Destroying Martial Law Proclamation After the Fact
Special Prosecutor Expected to Investigate Cabinet Meetings Before and After Martial Law Declaration
The special prosecutor's team led by Cho Eunseok, which is investigating the insurrection and treason cases related to the 12·3 Martial Law Incident, summoned former Prime Minister Han Ducksoo and Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Ahn Deokgeun simultaneously on July 2.
Former Prime Minister Han and Minister Ahn appeared at the special prosecutor's investigation office located at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office at 10 a.m. on the same day.
The special prosecutor's team is examining whether former President Yoon Sukyeol abused his authority toward cabinet members during the cabinet meetings before and after the declaration of martial law, and whether certain cabinet members can be considered accomplices for their complicity. The team is expected to question former Prime Minister Han and Minister Ahn about the circumstances of the cabinet meetings before and after the declaration of martial law.

In particular, the investigation into former Prime Minister Han will focus on whether he attempted to conceal the illegal martial law after the fact. Han reportedly signed the martial law proclamation drafted after the declaration, but later requested, "If it becomes known that a document was created after the fact, it could become controversial, so let's pretend it never happened." As a result, the document was reportedly destroyed.
