Jin Byungyoung, Governor of Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province, visited Songgok, Hoedong, and Okdong villages in Yurim-myeon in succession, holding meetings to inspect preparedness measures amid the ongoing heatwave and to listen to residents' concerns about any inconveniences.
According to Hamyang County on July 2, during the meetings, Governor Jin personally explained guidelines for preventing heat-related illnesses and took time to communicate with local residents by checking on the health and well-being of elderly people who are particularly vulnerable to the heat.
He also carefully inspected the actual operation of cooling shelters, checking the functioning of air conditioning, cleanliness, and user convenience, while paying close attention to whether there were any inconveniences in the daily lives of Yurim-myeon residents.
Governor Jin Byungyoung stated, "We will do our utmost to take proactive, field-oriented measures so that all county residents can spend the summer safely and in good health," and urged, "I hope residents will actively use the cooling shelters and pay special attention to personal health management by refraining from outdoor activities."
