In his presentation, Mayor Joo Gwangdeok identified the most significant achievements of the 8th administration as follows: expansion of the metropolitan transportation network; establishment of the foundation for a self-sufficient city, including attracting companies to the Wangsuk Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex; and securing an innovative public hospital.
First, in the area of transportation infrastructure, the city secured five subway lines and five GTX lines, began construction of the GTX-B line, opened the Byeollae Line, and launched the Sangbong-Maseok shuttle train, thereby expanding the rail network. In addition, the city expanded its road network with the Second Metropolitan Area Ring Expressway and National Route 98, laying the groundwork for urban growth.
Most notably, Namyangju achieved major milestones by attracting investment from Woori Financial Group's "Digital Universe," which signaled the start of a major transformation in the city's industrial ecosystem, and by securing this year's "Kakao AI-based Digital Hub." These achievements have positioned Namyangju as a rising center for advanced industries in the Seoul metropolitan area.
Mayor Joo also stated, "We are actively promoting the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong branding project, which aims to establish a unique urban value for Namyangju by reflecting the philosophy and teachings of Jeong Yak-yong throughout city administration."

This event reflects the city’s philosophy of realizing citizen-centered governance in the spirit of Jeong Yak-yong. The newly created portrait of Jeong Yak-yong was featured on the plaque, along with the phrase, "Once Again Dasan, With a Heart Only for the Citizens."
In addition, the city highlighted the successful bid to attract a public hospital to northeastern Gyeonggi Province as a noteworthy achievement. The city is actively supporting the opening of an innovative public hospital, which will provide medical services on par with large general hospitals and include care functions, by 2031.
Furthermore, the city has focused on expanding infrastructure to improve the citizen happiness index, including the nation's first Namyangju-style elementary care center "Sangsangnuriteo," a support center for families with disabilities, and the youth-exclusive complex space "Cheongnyeonkkotgan," thereby providing customized care policies for each generation.
Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "The past three years have been a period of change and challenge as we worked to create a new Namyangju across industry, transportation, and culture. As always, I will spend the remaining year of my term working alongside citizens in the field to make Namyangju an even more desirable city to live in, and a city where tomorrow is something to look forward to."
Afterwards, Mayor Joo visited the Wangsuk New Town construction site to inspect the progress of the project.
The site inspection was attended by officials from relevant departments and representatives from LH. They visited the pre-sale site and the urban high-tech industrial complex in Wangsuk New Town in turn, discussing ways to cooperate for the creation of a new town equipped with high-quality public housing and self-sufficiency functions.
In particular, Mayor Joo inspected the site of the Wangsuk Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex, where Woori Financial Group's "Digital Universe" and Kakao's "Digital Hub" will be located, and emphasized the need to ensure that all administrative procedures, including permits and approvals, proceed smoothly for the successful implementation of these projects.
