Kim Hyosook of Sejong City Council Receives Certificate of Appreciation for Efforts to Improve Firefighters' Working Conditions
Contribution to Improving Working Conditions at Hansol 119 Safety Center
"I Will Do My Best to Improve Fire Service Working Conditions"
Kim Hyosook, a member of the Sejong City Council, received a certificate of appreciation from the Hansol Volunteer Fire Brigade (led by Moon Inbae and Bong Hwasoon) in recognition of her contributions to improving the working conditions of firefighters and volunteer firefighters at the Hansol 119 Safety Center.
In 2022, after visiting the Hansol 119 Safety Center, which oversees the 2nd residential district, and listening to the current issues, she worked to address the extremely cramped conditions and the lack of proper rest areas, which were far worse compared to other 119 safety centers in areas such as Boram and Areum. Her efforts helped improve these poor conditions.
Kim said, "At the time, as a member of the Education and Safety Committee, I raised these issues and worked together with fellow council members to secure the necessary budget, which enabled the expansion and renovation of the old and cramped building. As a result, we were able to establish a mental wellness room and a training center for the volunteer fire brigade, among other improvements. I am proud to have contributed to creating a better working environment for all fire service personnel."
