Police Request Autopsy for Sillim-dong Stabbing Rampage Suspect
The police have requested an autopsy for the suspect who died after committing a stabbing rampage and then jumping to his death in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul.
On July 1, the Gwanak Police Station announced that it had requested the National Forensic Service to conduct an autopsy on a man in his 30s who died after attacking a neighbor with a weapon and then jumping to his death at a villa in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu.
The suspect is accused of wielding a weapon and injuring two men in their 20s and 30s, who lived in the same villa, at around 8:30 p.m. on June 29. The investigation confirmed that the suspect rang the doorbell of the victims' residence, and when they opened the door, he committed the attack.
The victims, who sustained injuries to their shoulders and ankles, are receiving treatment at a hospital. They told police that they did not know the suspect personally.
The police received a report of the incident on the day it occurred and went up to the roof of the villa to search for the suspect. However, the suspect jumped to his death at the moment the police entered.
