View original imageThe Chungnam Office of Education held a learning session on the 1st at the Chungnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services in Yesan, targeting 97 honorary farmer-teachers and 273 school garden coordinators from the province.
This year, the Office selected 273 schools for the pilot operation of the "School Garden Project with Honorary Farmer-Teachers" and appointed 97 honorary farmer-teachers.
During the learning session, there was time for communication between honorary farmer-teachers and school garden coordinators, as well as discussions on effective ways to promote the school garden project.
In addition, Jeong Hee Gong, principal of Garam Middle School in Cheonan, gave a special lecture on "Healing the Mind and Humanistic Reflection through School Garden Operation," and Yoon Jeong Kim, teacher at Guyam Elementary School in Buyeo, delivered a lecture on operating educational curricula utilizing school gardens.
Kim Ji Cheol, Superintendent of Chungnam Office of Education, stated, "Through the school garden project, we can achieve both environmental education and character education through hands-on activities," adding, "The Chungnam Office of Education will continue to support and promote various educational activities to strengthen climate and environmental education, character education, and career and vocational education."
