In particular, through collaboration with KNUA, the nation’s top institution for nurturing artistic talent, the plan is to create sophisticated content that bridges tradition and modernity.
Under the agreement: ▲ Changwon City will provide comprehensive administrative support, including domestic and international promotion of MAMF and infrastructure expansion; ▲ KNUA will arrange for professional artists and students to participate in festival programs; ▲ the Migrant Center will be responsible for overall festival planning, on-site operations, and practical support.
Collaboration with KNUA will begin in earnest with this year's festival. As part of this partnership, KNUA students will perform in a joint concert with a Mongolian National Morin Khuur Orchestra of about 70 members, presenting a harmonious meeting of the two countries' cultures. In addition, they will represent Korea in MAMF’s signature "Cultural Diversity Parade," showcasing a performance that blends creative dance and traditional Korean performing arts before a global audience.
Kim Daejin, President of KNUA, said, "I deeply resonate with the purpose of MAMF in promoting cultural diversity. I hope that through participation in MAMF, our students will have the opportunity to naturally interact with artists from various cultures in the field."
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, MAMF has become Korea’s leading festival for promoting the value of cultural diversity, based on years of experience and a strong network among expatriate communities. With this collaboration with KNUA, the nation’s top institution for nurturing artistic talent, we will further enhance the festival’s artistry and professionalism, making this a turning point for MAMF to leap onto the global stage."
Meanwhile, the 20th MAMF will be held from October 24 to 26 at Yongji Culture Park, Seongsan Art Hall, and the Jungang-daero area in Changwon. This year’s festival will feature more than 20 programs, including guest country cultural performances and the Cultural Diversity Parade. Detailed information can be found on the official MAMF website.
