During the ceremony, Gwangju Sarangui-Yeolmae delivered 20 million won (equivalent to 200 blankets) to encourage participation in the campaign by Gwangju City. The support will be provided to seniors living alone, households with persons with disabilities, neighbors in welfare blind spots, and social welfare facilities and organizations that are vulnerable to heat waves during the summer.
The "Our Gwangju Hopeful Summer Chak! Chak! Chak! Sharing Campaign" is an initiative to help those vulnerable to summer heat waves and those in welfare blind spots due to climate change. To ensure the smooth operation of the campaign and to help vulnerable groups stay healthy during the summer, Gwangju Sarangui-Yeolmae is providing project funding to Gwangju City and its five districts.
Park Heungcheol, Secretary-General of Gwangju Sarangui-Yeolmae, said, "I am pleased that this project can provide even a small amount of help to those vulnerable to summer heat waves and the climate crisis," adding, "I hope this campaign will offer great comfort and hope to neighbors who are exhausted by the heat."
