CGBio Launches Sensitive Toothpaste "SENTIS" Developed in Collaboration with Seoul National University and Yonsei University
CGBio, a company specializing in regenerative medicine, announced on July 1 that it has launched SENTIS, a toothpaste exclusively for sensitive teeth, which features a newly developed functional ingredient called nano-carbonated apatite (n-Cap). This ingredient was developed through joint research with the Seoul National University Institute of Advanced Materials and the Yonsei University College of Dentistry.
SENTIS is designed based on the principle of "dentin tubule sealing," which protects the tooth's internal nerves from external stimuli, and is formulated to effectively relieve pain associated with sensitive teeth. The key ingredient, nano-carbonated apatite, improves sensitivity by directly coating the tooth surface, unlike potassium nitrate or sodium fluoride, which are commonly used in other sensitive toothpastes. This allows SENTIS to deliver superior results in relieving tooth sensitivity compared to other products.
This ingredient is an inorganic material with a structure similar to human tissue and is precisely processed at the nano scale to effectively block the microscopic gaps in dentin tubules. Dentin tubules are the main pathways for nerve exposure that cause tooth sensitivity. By directly sealing these tubules, SENTIS fundamentally reduces pain caused by external stimuli. Through this mechanism, SENTIS differentiates itself from existing sensitive toothpastes in both the speed of effect and the duration of pain relief. In particular, simply brushing with SENTIS is enough to coat the teeth, making it easy for anyone to use.
The efficacy of the product has been proven in clinical trials involving the general public. Among 60 clinical participants who used SENTIS for two weeks, about 93% reported an improvement in sensitivity symptoms, demonstrating both the product's rapid effectiveness and high user satisfaction.
SENTIS is a multifunctional toothpaste that not only relieves sensitivity but also addresses overall oral health by removing bad breath, preventing gingivitis and periodontitis, and eliminating dental plaque (anti-plaque). It features a gentle mint flavor with reduced irritation, allowing for comfortable daily use. In addition, since it does not contain fluoride, it is a healthy option suitable for pregnant women and children.
CGBio plans to establish SENTIS as the leading brand for sensitive teeth toothpaste, starting with this launch. The company also intends to sequentially introduce specialized toothpaste lines targeting functions such as bad breath, periodontal disease, and whitening, and will gradually pursue entry into global markets.
