Daejeon and Hana Bank Launch "Kkumssi Family Hana Account" with Savings Interest Rates Up to 8%
Savings Account Available from June 30, Checking Account from July 2
Additional 20,000 Hana Money for Housing Subscription in Child's Name
The Daejeon Metropolitan Government announced that, in collaboration with Hana Bank, it will begin accepting applications for the "Kkumssi Family Hana Account" savings account on June 30, and for the checking account starting July 2.
This account is a customized financial product for households with infants and toddlers, offering a checking account and a savings account, with maximum annual interest rates of 2.5% and 8%, respectively.
The "Kkumssi Family Hana Account" was introduced as part of Daejeon's policy initiative to create a city where families with children can be happy. Its launch was announced through an agreement between the Daejeon Metropolitan Government and Hana Bank on May 19, 2025.
Parents of children aged 0 to 2 who are recipients of the Daejeon-style basic childcare allowance can open an account at any Hana Bank branch within Daejeon by bringing the allowance payment account, identification, and a certificate of family relationship.
In particular, if a new comprehensive housing subscription savings account is opened in the child's name, an additional 20,000 Hana Money will be provided.
The account design features "Kkumssi Family," Daejeon's representative character, to foster emotional familiarity for children and to allow citizens to experience the brand value of Daejeon.
A city official stated, "The 'Kkumssi Family Hana Account' is a symbolic example of the combination of policy, finance, and regional branding," and added, "Even after the launch, we will continue to explore various expansion models that link characters with financial products."
