Yongin City Selected as Outstanding Institution for 10 Consecutive Years in "Disaster Management Assessment"
High Marks for Crisis Management and Preemptive Response Systems by Disaster Type

Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 30th that it has been selected as an outstanding institution in the "2025 Disaster Management Assessment" organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The city explained that, with this selection, it has become the first institution among those evaluated to be chosen as an outstanding institution for 10 consecutive years. As a result of this recognition, the city will receive a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety and an incentive of 88 million won in special grants.
This assessment, conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in accordance with the "Framework Act on the Management of Disasters and Safety" since 2005, comprehensively evaluates the disaster management capabilities of 340 organizations, including central government agencies, local governments, and public institutions.
In this year's assessment, the city was recognized for its efforts to establish a system for professional response to various disaster situations. In particular, it received high marks for the appropriateness of disaster safety budget management, the establishment of crisis management and preemptive response systems for each type of disaster, the maintenance of disaster situation management and response systems, the implementation of disaster management policies, and efforts to strengthen disaster safety inspection capabilities.
The city added that, among the 43 evaluation indicators across six areas of disaster management, there were no categories rated as "insufficient."
