Sejong City Simplifies Application Process for Ieung Pass Youth Public Transportation Card
Issuance Available Without Additional Documents Starting in July
The application process for the Ieung Pass youth card, a popular public transportation card in Sejong City, will be significantly simplified.
According to Sejong City on June 30, the previous Ieung Pass application process required the guardian of the youth applicant to obtain and attach a certificate of basic personal information and a certificate of family relations. However, following discussions with Shinhan Card, the company overseeing the Ieung Pass, the process has been improved. Now, if the guardian agrees to a simple authentication, they can apply for the Ieung Pass youth card on behalf of the youth through the Supreme Court's family relations registration system without submitting additional documents.
In particular, the city plans to launch a dedicated online registration website within this year for youths who do not own a smartphone under their own name.
Cheon Heungbin, Director of the Transportation Bureau, stated, "We are continuously improving the system so that citizens can use the Ieung Pass more conveniently," and added, "Within this year, we are preparing to allow the issuance of the Ieung Pass card, which will be integrated with the Yeominjeon function, at bank branches as well."
