The Blue Ladder project, hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation, is a program that provides overseas training opportunities to university students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Dong-Eui University has been operating the program since 2018.

This year, the overseas training will take place at four universities in four countries: The University of Victoria in Canada, Southern Cross University in Australia, University Malaysia of Computer Science & Engineering in Malaysia, and Lapulapu-Cebu International College in the Philippines. A total of 60 students, with 15 selected from each country, will participate.

During the four-week summer break, participating students will take part in a variety of programs in their host countries, including language education, cultural exchange, team projects, career exploration, and company visits, with the aim of enhancing their global competencies.

In particular, to ensure a safe and successful training experience, pre-departure education was completed during weekends in June and the vacation period. This included foreign language training, understanding the culture of the host countries, mentoring from previous participants, team project planning, as well as education on overseas safety and sexual harassment prevention.

After returning to Korea, all participants will also receive systematic follow-up support through the University Job Plus Center. This will include one-on-one career and employment counseling, career planning based on their overseas experiences, job competency enhancement training, and customized job placement services.

Lee Cheolgyun, Director of Student Support, encouraged the students, saying, "I hope this dispatch will serve as an opportunity to improve your language skills and broaden your horizons, helping you grow into talents equipped with both global awareness and job market competitiveness."
