CJ 4Dplex Signs Agreement with World's Third Largest Theater Chain to Open Special Theaters
ScreenX Theaters to Be Installed at Cinepolis Locations in Latin America and Spain
Existing 4DX Theaters to Be Upgraded
CJ 4Dplex announced on the 27th that it has signed an agreement with the global theater chain Cinepolis to establish new special theaters and upgrade existing ones. Thirty ScreenX theaters will be installed at Cinepolis locations in Latin America and Spain, and twenty existing 4DX theaters will be renovated.
This is the second largest agreement following the contract signed in March with AMC Entertainment to open sixty-five ScreenX and 4DX theaters. As a result, the total number of ScreenX and 4DX theaters operated by CJ 4Dplex worldwide is expected to increase to approximately 1,300.
Cinepolis is the world's third largest theater chain, with 892 theaters and over 6,800 screens. Cinepolis first opened a 4DX theater in Mexico in 2011 and currently operates fifty-five 4DX theaters and six ScreenX theaters in the Americas.
