Hanam City and KEPCO Remove Illegal Roadside Advertisements
Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyunjae) announced on June 27 that it had conducted an environmental cleanup operation in cooperation with the Hanam branch of Korea Electric Power Corporation (Branch Manager Ryu Hyunsu) to remove illegal advertisements that were undermining the cityscape and threatening public safety.
This operation was carried out through close collaboration between the Advertisement Team of Hanam City's Road Management Division and the Hanam branch of Korea Electric Power Corporation. The main focus was to remove illegal advertisements, such as banner strings and posters left on streetlights and electrical facilities, which were difficult to reach and remove during regular cleanups.
On this day, a high-altitude work vehicle was mobilized to thoroughly collect illegal advertisements from major intersections where banners are frequently installed, including Gogol Intersection, Sinjang Elementary School Intersection, and City Hall Intersection.
This joint cleanup was conducted to address safety hazards for both pedestrians and vehicles. The Advertisement Team of Hanam City's Road Management Division was responsible for selecting areas to be cleaned and providing administrative support, while Korea Electric Power Corporation supplied specialized equipment, such as high-altitude work vehicles, and personnel.
