'Appetite Recovery Project' Launched
July "Price Shock Declaration" Begins
Ultra-Low Prices on Samgyetang, Salted Mackerel, and More
Emart announced on the 27th that it is launching the "Appetite Recovery Project," an event offering up to 50% discounts on a variety of seasonal summer foods and health-boosting ingredients, including Sinbi peaches, East Coast fresh squid, and premium Korean beef from female cattle.
First, until the 29th, Sinbi peaches and East Coast fresh squid will be available at ultra-low prices. Sinbi peaches (5-9 pieces per pack, domestic), known as a "summer limited edition fruit," are being offered at a discounted price of 5,980 won from the regular price of 10,800 won for customers who accumulate Shinsegae Points. Emart secured the event quantity of Sinbi peaches a month in advance and additionally sourced from Upo in Gyeongnam and Gimcheon in Gyeongbuk this year. Approximately 160 tons have been prepared exclusively for this event.
Domestic East Coast fresh squid is available at 2,990 won per squid. This is even cheaper than Emart's average event price, which is in the upper 3,000 won range. To offer these ultra-low prices, Emart collaborated with harbors along the East Coast and secured a maximum quantity of over 200,000 squid.
Beef is also being offered at exceptional prices. On the 28th, for one day only, all premium Korean beef from female cattle will be discounted by up to 50% for customers who accumulate Shinsegae Points. Sirloin (grades 1 and 1+, 100g, chilled, domestic) will be available at a 50% discount, priced at 5,990 won and 7,550 won respectively. All other cuts will be discounted by 40%. The offer is limited to two packs per person.
Until the 3rd of next month, all Darling Downs Wagyu grilling cuts (chilled, Australian beef) will be discounted by up to 40% for customers who accumulate Shinsegae Points. Ribeye cap will be 40% off, while all other cuts will be 30% off.
Emart's "Price Shock Declaration," a project aimed at stabilizing grocery prices, will also run until the 29th of next month. Throughout July, Emart will select popular items and offer them at ultra-low prices, divided into five major grocery items and fifty major processed and daily items.
The five major grocery items include king oyster mushrooms (2 packs, 1,980 won), salted mackerel (large, 1 piece, 4,480 won), stir-fry anchovies (500g, 12,580 won), nutritious Samgyetang (900g, 6,480 won), and Pulmuone Danone Greek Unsweetened Plain Yogurt (400g*2, 6,880 won).
