'Hwaseong Bandabi Sports Center' for People With and Without Disabilities Officially Opens
A 2,996-Square-Meter Facility Featuring an Aquatic Exercise Room, Fitness Room, and Gymnasium

The Hwaseong Bandabi Sports Center, an integrated sports facility for both people with disabilities and those without, has officially opened in Hyangnam-eup, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.
On June 26, Hwaseong City announced that it held the opening ceremony for the Hwaseong Bandabi Sports Center, which was built next to the Hwaseong City Sports Complex in Doi-ri, Hyangnam-eup, on June 25. The ceremony was attended by Jung Myunggeun, mayor of Hwaseong, Bae Jeongsu, chairman of the Hwaseong City Council, provincial and city council members, and representatives from organizations for people with disabilities.

View original imageThe center is a community-based integrated sports facility that can be used by both people with disabilities and those without. This project was selected in 2019 for the "Community-Based National Sports Center for People with Disabilities" competition, and a total of 16.56 billion won was invested, including 4 billion won in national and provincial funding.
The center consists of one basement level and two above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 2,996 square meters. Inside, there is an aquatic exercise room with four 25-meter lanes, a fitness room, and a multipurpose gymnasium.
Prior to the official opening, the city operated the center on a trial basis starting March 21. The city plans to promote community sports by offering a variety of customized programs for people with disabilities at the center.
