Korea Industrial Complex Corporation Establishes Platform to Respond to Global Carbon Regulations
One-Stop Support Platform Launched
for Export Companies to Meet Global Environmental Regulations
On June 25, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced that it has launched an initiative to establish a proactive support platform to help export companies within Smart Green Industrial Complexes respond to global carbon regulations. The 'Industrial Complex-type MRV Platform' aims to provide the domestic industrial sector with an effective foundation to address global carbon regulations, such as digital product passports and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.
This platform supports the measurement of carbon emissions by product (Measurement), preparation of reports (Reporting), and verification by authorized institutions (Verification). Initially, it will standardize, collect, manage, and verify a wide range of data required for global carbon regulations, including product origin, component materials, repair and recycling information, and carbon footprint.
Subsequently, by linking with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's 'Industrial Supply Chain Data Platform,' it will provide a one-stop service that enables companies to submit data in the formats required by regulatory authorities such as the European Union (EU). The platform's core functions include ▲data standardization and management ▲data exchange technology among data subjects ▲support for report generation and submission ▲consulting and education support. Through these features, the platform will help companies systematically and efficiently respond to carbon neutrality requirements.
