Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power held the 2nd Nuclear Power Communication Committee of 2025 on June 25.

View original imageDuring the committee meeting, participants shared updates on the operation status of Saewool Units 1 and 2, which are currently in normal operation, as well as the progress and commissioning status of Saewool Units 3 and 4. They also discussed the WANO (World Association of Nuclear Operators) peer review plans for Saewool Nuclear Power Plant (Units 1 and 2).
In addition, the committee introduced recent social contribution activities and plans, including the "So Cool, So Hot" energy support project for vulnerable groups and volunteer outings for children with severe disabilities.
Seo Yuseop, Head of Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters, stated, "We will continue to listen to and communicate with the local community," and added, "We will discuss and actively pursue cooperation measures that local residents can truly feel."
The Saewool Nuclear Power Communication Committee is composed of 16 members, including Ulju-gun council members, local community leaders, residents, and civic groups, and aims to transparently disclose information on nuclear power plant operation and construction. The committee has established a constant communication system and holds regular quarterly meetings.
In the second half of the year, the committee also plans to hold meetings to promote communication and mutual growth with the local community.
