Damyang County Holds 75th Anniversary Commemoration of the Korean War
Honoring the Sacrifices of Veterans
and Reaffirming the Spirit of National Defense

In his commemorative address, Governor Jeong said, "Even after more than 70 years, I extend my deepest condolences to the veterans and their families who continue to carry the scars of war in their hearts," and added, "Damyang County will continue to remember and uphold the noble intentions of our patriotic forebears."
Kim Jiwon, head of the Damyang County branch of the Korean War Veterans Association, stated, "This year, by holding the event in conjunction with the Jeollanam-do Memorial Day ceremony, it was a meaningful opportunity to widely promote Damyang's spirit of patriotism to the residents of the province." He also requested, "As the number of Korean War veterans continues to decline, I ask for your continued special attention and respect for them."
Meanwhile, in recognition of June as the Month of Patriots and Veterans, Damyang County is expanding its support to improve the honor and welfare of veterans' families by listening to their voices through various activities, such as visiting veterans' organizations and merit recipients, and holding meetings with the heads of veterans' organizations.
