Iranian State Broadcaster Claims Retaliation Against U.S. Base Led to Ceasefire
Iran's state broadcaster IRINN claimed that its missile attack prompted the United States and Israel to request a ceasefire.
According to CNN, IRINN stated in a live broadcast on the 24th (local time), "The successful missile operation by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in response to American aggression, as well as the exemplary patience and unity of our people in defending the homeland, ultimately forced the enemy to accept a ceasefire." The broadcaster asserted that retaliation against the U.S. military base in Qatar led to the U.S. requesting a ceasefire, which in turn resulted in a ceasefire with Israel.
IRINN further claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump requested a ceasefire with Israel immediately after Iran's attack on the U.S. military base. The IRINN anchor said, "Just one hour after the IRGC carried out a successful missile strike on the U.S. Al Udeid base in Qatar the previous day, Trump, in a begging-like manner, requested a ceasefire to halt the war of aggression against our country."
On the same day, Iran's Press TV reported, "A ceasefire will begin after Iran's fourth attack on Israel."
