Jeollanam-do Eco-Friendly Rice Wins 'Women's Choice Best Luxury Brand Award'
Selected for 19 Consecutive Years for Clean Quality and Taste
Achievements in Expanding School Meal Supply and Exports
On June 24, Jeollanam-do announced that its eco-friendly rice had been honored with the '27th Women's Choice Best Luxury Brand Award' for the 19th consecutive year, an award sponsored by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The 'Women's Choice Best Luxury Brand Award' is a consumer brand evaluation award established in 1999. The top luxury brands are selected based on a combination of survey results from 1,000 adult women aged 20 to 59 nationwide and evaluations by an academic expert review committee.
With this latest recognition, Jeollanam-do's eco-friendly rice has been chosen every single year for 19 years since its first win in 2006, firmly establishing itself as a luxury eco-friendly rice brand.
This achievement is the result of building a long-term relationship of trust with consumers based on quality, safety, and reliability, once again proving the reputation and trustworthiness of Jeollanam-do's eco-friendly rice.
In particular, experts attribute this success to the establishment of eco-friendly rice cluster complexes and support for rice processing, drying, and storage facilities, as well as a rigorous quality management system that oversees everything from rice variety selection to milling.
Jeollanam-do accounts for 60% of the nation's certified eco-friendly rice cultivation area, and within that, organic rice fields make up 71% of the national total, solidifying the province's position as the leading producer of organic and low-carbon rice in clean regions.
As a result, Jeollanam-do's eco-friendly rice is highly regarded for its quality and safety, to the extent that it is stably supplied for school meals at elementary, middle, and high schools in cities such as Seoul and Jeju.
In addition, last year, Jeollanam-do supplied 200 tons of eco-friendly rice to over 40 CJ Freshway group catering locations, and this year, it is accelerating the expansion of its domestic and international distribution networks by supplying 50 tons of Yeongam organic Saecheongmu rice each month to the franchise Yamsaem Gimbap.
Park Sangmi, Director of Agro-Food Distribution at Jeollanam-do, stated, "Despite the continued decline in rice consumption, Jeollanam-do's eco-friendly rice has been selected by consumers for 19 consecutive years as a luxury brand that delivers taste, health, and trust. We will do our utmost to globalize Jeollanam-do rice by actively responding to both domestic and the rapidly growing overseas demand."
