Chungnam Office of Education Launches Full-Scale Operation of School Violence Response Task Force
Automatic Transmission of Student Location to Guardians in Crisis Situations
Intensive Reporting Period for Unreported School Violence Cases Until July 15
The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education has launched efforts to prevent and respond to school violence.
On June 23, the Chungnam Office of Education announced that it has established and begun full-scale operation of the "2025 School Violence Response Task Force (TF)" to create a safe educational environment free from school violence and to strengthen the response system to such incidents.
The School Violence Response TF aims to ensure swift and accurate handling of school violence cases and to provide customized, integrated support for both victims and perpetrators. The TF's initiatives will be actively reflected in the "Comprehensive Plan for School Violence Prevention and Response (2025?2029)."
In addition, from now until July 28, the office will hold four sessions, including discussion forums and training programs, to share directions for responding to school violence and to explore detailed support measures for each institution and subcommittee's specific tasks.
The TF will operate as three separate teams: the Prevention Education Planning Team, the Case Handling Support Team, and the Psychological and Healing Support Team.
The provincial office is also developing a system using the "Chungnam Student Guardian App," which will automatically send a student's location to their guardian in crisis situations and enable one-touch reporting to 117 and 112 hotlines. The system is scheduled for distribution in July.
Furthermore, the period until July 15 has been designated as an intensive reporting period for unreported cases of school violence, during which the office is working to uncover hidden incidents and intensify prevention activities.
Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol emphasized, "Through the operation of this School Violence Response TF and close cooperation with the local community, we will establish long-term and practical plans for the prevention and response to school violence, develop policies that reflect the opinions of those in the field, and create a safe learning environment free from school violence."
