Mokwon University Opens International Education Institute Branch in Pattaya, Thailand
Mokwon University has opened a branch of its International Education Institute in Pattaya, Thailand, with the aim of establishing a hub for the spread of Hallyu and missionary activities in Southeast Asia.
Mokwon University announced on June 23 that it recently held an opening ceremony for the Pattaya branch and appointed missionary Han-Sil So as the branch director.

View original imageThe opening ceremony was attended by Lee Chul, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Methodist School Foundation; board members Yoo Youngwan and Kang Panjung; Mokwon University President Lee Heehak; Kim Junil, Director of International Cooperation; Park Kyungsik, Deputy Director of International Cooperation; Pattaya Mayor Poramet; and the city's Chief Secretary for Political Affairs.
The Pattaya branch will serve as an integrated platform for Korean language education and the spread of Hallyu, providing study abroad counseling and offering Korean language and culture education to local students and the general public.
In particular, on the day of the opening ceremony, Mokwon University held a meeting with Pattaya City and finalized the schedule for the "2nd Korean Language Camp" and a "Cultural Arts Performance," both to be held in January next year.
The cultural arts performance will be held at Pattaya Beach and the main stadium for local residents and tourists. During the event, Mokwon University will also conduct university promotions and exhibitions.
At the meeting, Pattaya City pledged to actively support future collaborative activities between Mokwon University and the local community, taking the opening of the Pattaya branch as an opportunity.
