Small Library Branch No. 96 was established after Masan Happo District was selected as the final recipient of the 'Small Library Support Contest Project,' jointly promoted by the Salvation Army and Lotte Homeshopping. With this, the outdated administrative data room on the third floor of the district office underwent a major renovation and was transformed into an open reading space that any resident can freely use.
This space is designed with a variety of features, including reading seats, a children's corner, and a small meeting area, allowing people of all ages to spend time together. It is expected to become a complex cultural space that fosters communication and cultural enjoyment among local residents.
Small Library Branch No. 96 has created a precious reading environment by offering a total collection of about 2,000 books, including approximately 1,000 books previously stored in the administrative data room and an additional 1,000 new books provided by the Salvation Army and Lotte Homeshopping.
Masan Happo District plans to continue expanding the collection through future book donation campaigns.
Park Dongjin, head of Masan Happo District Office, said, "This newly opened small library will become more than just a place to read books; it will serve as a beloved community space where people of all generations can come together. We will continue to expand cultural spaces within the government office so that public administration can be even closer to our residents."
