On June 21, families of the victims of the December 29 Muan Airport Jeju Air passenger plane disaster held a press conference on the second floor of Muan International Airport, calling for a thorough investigation. The families demanded that the Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Board secure its independence from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and that all accident-related materials, including the damaged engine parts and black box recordings, be disclosed transparently. They also emphasized that the participation of an investigator recommended by the families must be guaranteed, and that those responsible must be held accountable and measures to prevent recurrence must be established.
