This evaluation was conducted from July to December 2023, covering 1,325 nursing hospitals nationwide. It assessed a total of 17 indicators, including the composition of professional staff relative to inpatients, medical care processes, and patient safety management. Andong Nursing Hospital achieved a comprehensive score of 91 points, significantly exceeding the national average of 77.9 points.
Notably, Andong Nursing Hospital has maintained a first-grade rating for three consecutive years, demonstrating excellence in both the quality of medical care and patient satisfaction. In this evaluation as well, it was the only institution in Andong to be selected within the "top 10%," further solidifying its position as the region's leading nursing hospital.
HIRA explained, "The purpose of this evaluation is to encourage qualitative improvement in nursing hospital medical services and to provide objective information necessary for the public to choose trustworthy medical institutions."
Kang Sinhong, Chairman of Andong Medical Foundation, stated, "As the center of the local healthcare system, Andong Nursing Hospital is doing its utmost to ensure that patients receive dignified medical services in a safe and respectful environment," adding, "We will continue to establish ourselves as a trusted hospital dedicated to protecting the health of local residents."
Meanwhile, Andong Nursing Hospital proactively responded to the increasing medical demand due to an aging population by adding a new inpatient ward to its branch in May. Through this, the hospital is expanding the local medical infrastructure and, in the mid- to long-term, contributing to resolving healthcare blind spots in the region.
