The Korea Shipping Association announced on the morning of June 20 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Shipbrokers Association for "Sustainable Development and Win-Win Cooperation in the Shipping Industry" at the association's main conference room.

View original imageUnder this agreement, the two associations will cooperate in various areas, including the joint use of shipping market information and databases (DB), joint training for nurturing shipping talent and promoting exchanges among practitioners, digital transformation and platform development in the shipping sector, and public relations activities to enhance awareness of the shipping industry.
In particular, they plan to operate regular exchange programs between domestic shipping companies and shipbroking firms, and to concretize win-win cooperation measures through working-level councils. They will also consider the joint development of new technologies, such as building an artificial intelligence (AI) and big data-based freight rate prediction system.
Yang Changho, Executive Vice President of the Korea Shipping Association, said, "This MOU will serve as a foundation for the sustainable growth of the shipping industry," and added, "I hope that this private sector-led cooperation will become an opportunity to enhance the overall competitiveness of the shipping ecosystem."
