Gyeonggi Fire Holds Fire Safety Song Contest on 19th... Grand Prize to Siheung Haeoreum Kindergarten and Seongnam Migum Elementary School
At the 26th Gyeonggi-do 119 Fire Safety Song Contest, held by the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters at the Gyeonggi Arts Center on the 19th, Siheung Haeoreum Kindergarten (kindergarten division) and Bundang Seongnam Migum Elementary School (elementary division) each won the grand prize. These two teams will represent Gyeonggi-do at the National 119 Fire Safety Song Contest scheduled for September.
The 119 Fire Safety Song Contest is held annually to help children naturally develop fire safety awareness through songs and to educate them on basic safety rules that can be practiced in daily life.
The event was hosted by Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, with support from the Gyeonggi Branch of the Korea Fire Safety Institute and the Gyeonggi-Gangwon Branch of the Korea Fire Insurance Association.

View original imageThis year, a total of 31 teams participated in the contest, including 25 kindergarten teams and 6 elementary school teams from across the province, presenting songs themed on the importance of fire safety.
The Excellence Award went to Yongin Seobu Strawberry Kindergarten, Ansan Dreamer Hana Daycare Center, and Gimpo Gochon Art Hall 119 Youth Group.
Kim Jaebyung, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "The fire safety messages delivered by the children on stage were more than just songs; they were a valuable experience that raised awareness and empathy among everyone." He added, "Gyeonggi Fire will continue to expand participatory safety culture education programs in which children and residents can take part together."
