Approximately 200 officials from related organizations, including Gwangsan Fire Station, Public Health Center, Police Station, and Gwangju City Drone Operation Team, participated in the drill. The exercise simulated a derailment and fire of an electric train caused by an earthquake, comprehensively assessing the corporation's crisis response capabilities.
In particular, a five-member citizen experience group, formed through prior recruitment, took part in the drill. They observed the entire process from preparation to completion and provided evaluations and suggestions for improvement from a citizen's perspective.
The corporation evaluated that this drill, which was conducted under the scenario of a major urban railway accident, further enhanced its overall disaster response capabilities. This includes swift initial response through rapid operation of crisis management teams, division of duties among organizations and control of the accident situation, fire suppression, and damage recovery.
President Cho Ikmun stated, "Since derailments or fires can actually occur during urban railway operations, it is important for citizens to remain attentive. We will make thorough preparations to ensure a prompt and safe response under any circumstances."
