Man in His 30s Arrested for Forging Blackpink Tickets and Pocketing Tens of Millions of Won
Caught While Attempting to Make a Deal at a Cafe
A man in his 30s was arrested by police for forging concert tickets for the popular idol group Blackpink and pocketing tens of millions of won.
The Seoul Dongjak Police Station announced on the 18th that it had urgently arrested a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, on charges including fraud.
Mr. A is accused of attempting to sell counterfeit Blackpink concert tickets at a cafe in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, at around 9:20 p.m. the previous day.
After receiving a report, police officers were dispatched to the scene and apprehended Mr. A following a stakeout investigation.
It was reported that police detected irregularities such as typographical errors on Mr. A's tickets and confirmed the forgery through the official ticket vendor.
Mr. A is believed to have sold approximately 500 counterfeit tickets via a secondhand trading platform, making about 80 million won in the process.
