Jeonnam Provincial Council Launches Special Committee on Family Happiness Policy; Hyunsook Park Elected as Chairperson
Promoting Institutional Improvements in Family and Gender Equality Policies
The Jeonnam Provincial Council announced on June 18 that the Special Committee on Family Happiness Policy held its inaugural meeting on June 17, electing Assemblywoman Hyunsook Park (The Minjoo Party of Korea, proportional representation) as chairperson and Assemblywoman Mikyung Kim (Democratic Labor Party, proportional representation) as vice-chairperson.
The Special Committee on Family Happiness Policy aims to realize a "Happy Jeonnam" by focusing on improving the child-rearing environment and promoting a healthy family culture. The committee plans to review related policies from multiple perspectives and pursue institutional improvements.

She added, "Since family and gender equality policies have a significant impact across society, I believe we can come up with more constructive alternatives by working together with members of various standing committees."
The special committee consists of nine members, including Chairperson Park, Vice-Chairperson Kim, Myunghee Yoon (Jangheung 2), Chunok Han (Suncheon 2), Mihwa Oh (Yeonggwang 2), Misook Choi (Shinan 2), Seohyun Jeon (People Power Party, proportional representation), Hwashin Kim (The Minjoo Party of Korea, proportional representation), and Sukkyung Han (Suncheon 7). The committee plans to actively engage in legislative activities by thoroughly reviewing related issues moving forward.
