Governor Woo carried out this activity as part of the "Our Village Maintenance Campaign," together with the Miam-myeon Regional Volunteer Disaster Prevention Team and about 50 residents from Buam and Namsan villages.
The Chundongcheon Drainage Sluice Gate is an area that suffers habitual damage due to heavy rainfall during the summer, affecting approximately 3 hectares of farmland.
Woonghee Woo, Governor of Yeongam County, stated, "Based on the participation of county residents, we have established a basic plan to minimize natural disasters during this year's summer season and have maintained sites with habitual damage together with village residents." He added, "We will build an advanced disaster response system in which village residents protect their own communities and Yeongam County provides maximum support for such activities."
Yeongam County plans to continue the Our Village Maintenance Campaign, focusing on vulnerable areas in each town and township, ahead of the full-scale rainy season this year.
