View original imageAccording to Yeoncheon County on June 17, the county recently completed the final report meeting for the "Basic Plan and Feasibility Study for Yeoncheon County Observatory Tourism Development," which utilizes the observatories.
The study focused on formulating policies to revitalize the local economy by increasing the resident population through security tourism resources, in response to the risk of local extinction.
During the final report meeting, the county shared the basic plan for observatory tourism development, including directions for utilizing and revitalizing Yeoncheon County's observatories, and strategies for integrated development with neighboring areas. The meeting focused on revisions and improvements based on feedback from the interim report meeting held on April 17. The feasibility of the plan was analyzed and reviewed from economic, policy, and regional balanced development perspectives.
The main contents included proposals to renew each observatory with distinctive concepts: the Rising Observatory for tunnel security tourism, the Biryong Observatory for historical security tourism, the Taepung Observatory for ecological security tourism, and the Yeolsoe Observatory for patriotic security tourism. In addition, the county explored strategies for integrated development with neighboring areas and proposed new projects, discussing a comprehensive development strategy for mutual growth across the entire region.
The meeting was attended by Kim Deokhyeon, Governor of Yeoncheon County, as well as heads of relevant departments and township leaders.
