"The Stage Is Set" Gwangju Student Talent Festival Now Recruiting Participants
First Round Video Screening in June Ahead of September Finals
The Gwangju Office of Education announced on June 17 that it is recruiting participants for the 3rd Gwangju Student Talent Festival (Gwangtalpe), which will be held in September.
Gwangtalpe is a student-led audition program organized by the Gwangju High School Student Council and operated by the Office of Education since 2023. Depending on student demand, the competition features a variety of genres, including K-Pop dance, band, vocal, and instrumental performances.

View original imageThis year's event, under the theme "On the Stage of the World, Gwangtalpe! The Moment Your Dream Begins!", will hold its finals on September 27 at the Haeoreum Hall of Chosun University. The first round of video screening will take place in June, and the preliminary rounds will be held on July 25-26 at the Student Culture Center of the Gwangju Office of Education.
Eligible participants include elementary, middle, and high school students from the Gwangju area, as well as out-of-school youth. Applications can be submitted through the Gwangtalpe website until June 20. Outstanding teams will be given the opportunity to participate in the "Student Global Leader Around the World Culture and Arts Tour," which is scheduled for October.
