Jin Jinsook Appointed as Deputy Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea
"Committed to the Stable Settlement of a Government of Popular Sovereignty"
Jin Jinsook, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea representing Gwangju Buk-gu Eul, was appointed as the party's deputy floor leader on June 15, 2025.
As a member of the first floor leadership team of the Democratic Party of Korea since the inauguration of the Lee Jaemyung administration, Jin began her official duties as deputy floor leader on the morning of June 16 by visiting the Seoul National Cemetery with floor leader Kim Byungki and other party leadership members. Jin is recognized for her practical skills and on-the-ground sensibility, and expectations are high for her performance as deputy floor leader.
Jin stated, "Together with floor leader Kim Byungki, I will do my utmost to ensure that President Lee Jaemyung's government of popular sovereignty, which is the aspiration of the citizens of Gwangju and the people of the Republic of Korea, can overcome the economic crisis and external challenges, and achieve stable settlement."
Meanwhile, during the 21st presidential election, Jin served as the deputy head of the 'Golmokgolmok Seondaewi' local situation team, head of the Gwangju special advisory group for the candidate's general advisory team, and chair of the Childcare Committee, earning recognition for her organizational skills and field experience.
Additionally, on June 11, Jin was awarded the Excellence Award in the legislative activity category, being one of 24 recipients of the 'National Assembly Legislative Award,' which is given by the National Assembly based on a direct evaluation of all lawmakers' legislative performance.
